Step one – come on over
If you’re looking to buy a lodge in Yorkshire or considering buying a caravan, then the best thing you can do is visit the park.
Our friendly and thoroughly helpful team enjoy nothing more than showing people around the Castle Howard Estate, so please give us a call to arrange a visit. We have a golf cart on standby to make sure you see everything and we’ll have the tea and biscuits ready!
This is our opportunity to get to know you too and find out what you want from your new holiday home. Sometimes it’s the smallest detail that will help us show you the perfect caravan.
Seeing the park first-hand is the best thing to do, but if you are unable to attend in person, then we offer the next best thing… a virtual tour (sorry, no tea and biscuits with this one).
Step two – running costs
Like any home, your holiday home has some running costs to consider. Firstly, we charge park fees. These contribute to the cost of maintenance, repairs, grounds, staffing, security and all the other things that mean the park is shipshape every time you visit. When you buy, your park fees are waived for the remainder of that year, so the savvy buyer will make the most of this payment holiday!
Additionally, you’ll need to take out insurance and pay for gas and electricity which are both metred. Finally, the Council levies rates, but expect these to be much lower than a brick-built property.
Don’t worry, it sounds like a lot to take on board, but it’s not and we’ll talk you through all of the figures so there are no nasty surprises.
Step three – your dream home
During your tour of the park, we’ll have spoken about the type of caravan or lodge you’re interested in and have a rough idea of your budget, so the next step is all about finding your dream holiday home to buy. We’ll show you a selection of holiday homes for sale – both new and used if that’s what you want.
Even if you know exactly what you want, it’s always a good idea to view several different caravans as the spec, design, size and layout vary quite a bit between models – and, you might find something even better than you thought!
Step four – location, location, location
You’ve found the perfect caravan to buy, now let’s find you the perfect plot. Again, this will be based on what you’ve told us, so if you want to be closer to the lake or a secluded woodland spot, we’ll do our best to get you that. It’s worth noting that pre-owned caravans are already sited, so you cannot choose the plot. Having said that, the plot sometimes sells the caravan, so don’t rule anything out!
Step five – added extras
You’re nearly there… a soon-to-be owner at Castle Howard Lakeside Holiday Park (now that’s an impressive address to share with friends!). We will run through any optional extras you want such as decking. We’ll also answer any other questions you have before discussing the handover date based on availability.
Step six – let the holidays commence
Just the paperwork and funds to be finalised, and that’s it. You have found a forever-holiday home in a beautiful part of the UK… Enjoy every single minute of holiday home ownership as you enjoy beautiful UK holidays and become part of the Castle Howard community!
