How long is the Holiday Park open each year?
Answer: Castle Howard Lakeside Holiday Park is open all year round. Each season is special and offers something different, which is one of the benefits of holiday home ownership. You can visit as often as you like to enjoy the different seasons.
Can I visit my holiday home all year round?
Answer: Yes you can but it must be used as a holiday home. It cannot be your main residence.
How much is the park fee?
Answer: The current site fees are £3,992.15 including VAT.
When do I pay the park fee?
Answer: Fees are due before March 1st each year.
Is the park fee included in the purchase price?
Answer: Yes it is. Fees for the remainder of the current year are included in the purchase price for all new holiday homes.
How much are the local rates, levied by the Council?
Answer: We expect each holiday home owner will pay approximately £266 (inc VAT) in 2024.
What costs apply for my holiday home?
Answer: It is important to ensure that you are aware of all costs associated with buying a holiday home. In addition to the park fees, you will need to budget for the following;
Insurance – according to reinstatement value.
Gas – metered to each holiday home individually.
Electricity – metered to each holiday home individually.
The ‘new owner' entry charge of £1,000 plus VAT is included in the initial purchase price for new caravans. When purchasing a ‘privately owned’ holiday home from an existing owner, an entry charge of £1,000 plus VAT is in addition to the cost of the caravan.
Can I rent out my holiday home?
Answer: No. The holiday park is exclusive to our holiday home owners and their friends and family.
Is there adequate security?
Answer: Yes, we have a security barrier at the entrance to the holiday home section of the holiday park. The barrier has number plate recognition making it easy for you to access the park, but restricts people who are not owners.
How much does it cost to fish on the lake?
Answer: It's free of charge to holiday home owners.
