Dog friendly camping and touring holidays

If you are looking for a pet friendly camping holiday or a pet friendly touring caravan holiday in North Yorkshire then Castle Howard Lakeside Holiday Park is the place for you.

Located on the Castle Howard Estate, our dog friendly campsite is open from March through to December. We are well known for being a pet friendly holiday park. With a dedicated dog exercise field and a great location providing a wonderful selection of walks, you have everything you need to enjoy a dog friendly holiday.

Spacious pitches ensure a dog friendly campsite, so camping with your dog becomes a comfortable possibility. All the things you love about camping are things your dog will love too. Lots of fresh air, days exploring the area, and of course long dog walks.
We do ask that your dog is well behaved, kept on a lead whilst on the campsite and of course that you clean up after your dog.

Being a dog friendly holiday park means you can relax and enjoy your UK holiday knowing your whole family is with you. The area is very pet friendly with a great assortment of walks to enjoy.

The Howardian Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty covers 204 square kilometres of North Yorkshire countryside. Woodland areas offer welcome shade in summer, riverbank footpaths can offer a refreshing splash for your dog and a great selection of footpaths and bridleways offer a variety to ensure you all enjoy each and every day.

One of the most popular dog-friendly attractions in Yorkshire is the North York Moors National Park. With over 1,400 miles of footpaths, you and your dog can explore heather moorland, ancient woodlands, and stunning coastline. Other outdoor attractions that are popular with dogs include Dalby Forest, the Yorkshire Dales National Park, and the Yorkshire Sculpture Park.

We have a beautiful lakeside walk next to the campsite that is open to dogs for part of the year. We do have to restrict access during nesting season to protect the wildlife, however the path is open to everyone outside of the season. Signs will be displayed when we need to restrict dogs and the reception team are on hand to confirm if you need to check.
Dogs are welcome in the gardens of Castle Howard and in the outdoor seating areas of the cafes. Free bones are sometime available from the Farm shop so pop in during your next visit.
